Our Spiritual Heart

Our community tries to reflect our core convictions that God the Father loves each person beyond our imagining and reaches out to them through Jesus Christ and distributes the Holy Spirit to each as he wills. We therefore seek to root ourselves in these convictions by stressing the following:

• We journey together and bear one another’s burdens in a spirit of love and inclusion
• We are learning that the compassion of Jesus calls us to be  forgiving and non judgemental as we work out our calling to be community
• We know we are all sinners in need of God’s mercy and broken people in need of God’s healing so we place a great emphasis on our corporate ministry of healing as a significant place of encounter with God
• We value opportunities to meet together socially and spiritually and believe that God is present in these connections
• We value the contributions of each member to our life, including those who are now housebound or otherwise unable to be ‘active’
• We believe that the Holy Spirit can work to bring wholeness and hope in the lives of people of any age, of every nationality and through our limitations of physical and mental health
• We try to ground our life in prayer and are open to a rich banquet of prayer styles. In particular we are enriched by the Eucharist which lies at the heart of all that we do, by the healing prayer we share, by our visits to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and by our seeking to be open to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
